WGBH - TV: Wasting airspace, again
WBGH, again you win the contest as the most clueless PBS station in the world.
There is this small news event occurring this week, called the Democratic National Convention.
And what are you showing tonight?
John Denver, a man and his music.
Are you completely clueless?
Another year, another lack of donations from me.
When will you start showing the programs [...]

Olympics and the Concept of “Live” TV
Robert Scoble has launched a thread over on FriendFeed [here] discussing the NBC Olympics broadcast schedule and how the reality of the Internet and Social Media is changing how things are broadcast.
People are recommending the CBC feed. I would likely say the people in the UK would recommend the BBC feed. But I can tell [...]

Wordpress Install - Installer FAIL!
So, the last post I put up simply stated that I had failed in installing Worpress 2.6 on my own server. The permalinks were messed up and it looked a lot like an issue that a lot of people were having.
But, the catch was: the problem persisted when I tried to use Wordpress 2.5.1. Hmmm…wonder [...]

The Twitter Debate - YATPBP
Yes, it’s YATPBP (Yet Another Twitter Performance Blog Post).
About 10 days ago, I turned GrabPERF loose on Twitter. Now before you accuse this of crippling the service and bringing it to its knees, realize that GrabPERF simply requests a document over HTTP about two times a minute. No additional requests are made for images and [...]

It’s the network, dummy
In the GigaOm blog today, Allen Leinwand puts up a monstrous wake-up call to all the hip and cool Web 2.0 companies out there: Your apps run across the Internet [here].
I have spent 9 years investigating, diagnosing, and validating the Web performance issues of companies. I can tear the Web performance data of a site [...]

Return of the Blog Peasant: Hibernation and renewal
Those who saw me at the edge of the A-list (B-list? are those terms valid anymore? I am so out of touch) circle during the first wave of the blog explosion saw me flag and then fall. But where did I go? What did I do?
I left town, essentially. Mentally. I had to go down [...]

The fading of blogging
Through 2007, the number of posts I made per day/week/month decreased steadily. I know post new items 2-3 items a month, or less. After 2 years of steady entries, I just didn’t have anything to add to the conversation.
Having been an A-list groupie for this entire period, I lost touch with the self-perpetuating scene. A [...]

You know you have reached middle age when…
You hear a song off Bob Mould’s album Workbook used in a TIAA-CREF commercial.
I think I’ll just nip off and shoot myself.
